swimEC Related Standards ATO
ATO
The Australian Taxation Office publishes a series of standards that are used for information exchanges between industry and the ATO concerning functions for which they are the regulator. The functions include the Superannuation Contributions Surcharge, Superannuation Guarantee, Government Co-contributions, Reasonable Benefits Limits and lost and unclaimed monies.
This information is available on the ATO website. Go to:
http://www.ato.gov.au/superprofessionals/
Then, under Your Super Essentials, choose E-commerce & software.
The ATO has made an in-principle commitment to include XML formats in the range of available data interchange formats for future initiatives.
Initially two XML standards have been developed.
One is for superannuation providers, administrators and tax agents lodging a payment variation advice statement (PVA) to reject member's co-contribution or superannuation guarantee allocation payments/debit requests via electronic media to the Tax Office.
The other is for superannuation providers and administrators to receive a co-contribution or Superannuation Guarantee "Remittance Advice and Recovery Notice" from the ATO
Both standards can be found under E-commerce & Software > co-contributions.
